Abstract

   Abstract The purpose of this research is to describe rhyme, rythme and function Medical Mantra on Dayak Jelai society of Batu Menang Village, Jelai Hulu Sub-district in Ketapang Regency. The method in this research is descriptif with qualitative and structural approachment. Technical collected file are from direct gazing, interviewing and recording. Based on data analysisa we get the summary such as: (1) The rhyme in the medical mantra of Dayak Jelai society are built from two circumstance : (a) The rhyme based on the sound: perfect rhyme, unperfect rhyme, original rhyme, open rhyme, closed rhyme, alliterate rhyme, asonancy rhyme and desonancy rhyme. (b) The rhyme based on the words place in the entire: first rhyme, medium rhyme, end rhyme, vertical rhyme, horizontal rhyme, flat rhyme, cross rhyme, continued ware rhyme. And the dominant rhyme ase end rhyme and vertical rhyme. Then, from the eight rhyme of mantra which is dominantly and have many rhyme in it is medical mantra of stomachach. (2) The rhytme in the medical mantra of Dayak Jelai society is based on notes are: high notes rhytme, low notes rhytme, long notes rhytme, short notes rhytme, short stop notes rhytme and long stop notes rhytme. (3) The function of medical mantra of Dayak Jelai Society Batu Menang village are: (a) Social function  and (b) Religius function. Keywords: Mantra pengobatan, struktur dan fungsi
