<![CDATA[Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan number sense siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal pada materi pecahan. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan bentuk penelitian studi kasus. Sebagai subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX B SMP Negeri 5 Pontianak, dengan fokus penelitian adalah kemampuan number sense siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal pada materi pecahan. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa hasil tes tertulis dan wawancara untuk melihat kemampuan number sense siswa. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan number sense siswa termasuk dalam kategori sangat rendah dengan persentase nilai rata-rata tes number sense siswa yaitu 54,20%. Persentase ketercapaian pada setiap indikator kemampuan number sense sebagai berikut: 1) indikator pemahaman terhadap konsep dan besaran bilangan berkisar 81,06%; 2) indikator pemahaman terhadap representasi bilangan yang senilai berkisar 64,00%; 3) indikator pemahaman terhadap pengaruh dari operasi bilangan berkisar 57,57%; 4) indikator pemahaman terhadap pernyataan yang setara berkisar 50,75%; dan 5) indikator perhitungan dan strategi menghitung berkisar 33,95%.  Kata Kunci: Number Sense, Pecahan  Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe the ability of students' number sense in completing the questions on fractions. The method used is qualitative with case study as the form of research. As a subject of research is the students of class IX B in SMP Negeri 5 Pontianak, with the focus of the research is the ability of students' number sense in completing the questions on fractions. The instrument used in the form of a written test and the interview results to see number sense abilities of the students. The result showed that the number sense ability of students is included in the very low category. The average percentage of the value of the students’ number sense test is 54.20%. The percentage of achievement on each indicator of number sense ability is shown as follows: 1) indicators understanding of the concept and massive numbers is approximately 81.06%; 2) indicators understanding of the representation of numbers worth is approximately 64.00%; 3) indicators understanding of the influence of number operations is approximately 57.57%; 4) indicators understanding of the equal statements is approximately 50.75%; and 5) the indicator calculations and compute strategies is approximately 33.95%.
