Abstract

AbstractThe title of this thesis is "Social Interaction in the Form of Cooperation and Competition of Madurese and Malay Ethnic Islamic students at Darul Khairat Islamic Boarding School in Pontianak". The general problem in this research is "how social interaction in the form of cooperation and competition between Madurese and Malay ethnic Islamic students at Darul Khairat Islamic Boarding School Pontianak" with sub-problems as follow; How is the social interaction in the form of Madurese and Malay ethnic Islamic students’ cooperation at Darul Khairat Islamic Boarding School in Pontianak; How is the social interaction in the form of competition between Madurese and Malay Islamic students at Darul Khairat Islamic Boarding School in Pontianak. The method of this research is qualitative research in descriptive form. The data collection tools were observation guidelines, interview guidelines and documentation studies. The results of the study showed; social interaction in the form of cooperation between Madurese and Malay ethnic Islamic students has not gone well and properly yet; Social interaction in the form of competition between Madurese and Malay Islamic students in Darul Khairat Islamic Boarding School has been well established and fierce.
