UPGRADING CONCEPTUAL UNDERSTANDING OF MATHEMATICAL IN LEARNING TRIGONOMETRY THROUGH STUDENT WORK SHEET BASED DIDACTIC ANTICIPATION

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study is to investigetate the effectiveness of student work sheet based didactic anticipation to upgrade tenth grade students of science program of senior high school of  Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Pontianak conceptual understanding of mathematics in learning Trigonometry. A descriptive design with case study approach is employed in this study. Sample of study is 3 tenth grade students of science program of senior high school of  Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Pontianak. The 3 students are representatives from 3 groups of students’ performance , specifically low, moderate and high. For collecting date, essay test is utilized. The findings indicate that there is a significant difference between students’ pretest score and posttest score after the treatment. Students’ pretest average score is 50,00 with standard deviation 19,46 and students’ posttest average score is 76,25 with standard deviation 13,36. The date signify that students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics in learning trigonometry have increase 26,25 point. Thus, the utilization of student work sheet based didactic anticipation is effective to upgrade students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics. Keywords: didactic anticipation, conceptual understanding, upgrading
