<![CDATA[Faced with today’s situation, celibacy may be regarded as a less attractive and less meaningful choice of life. Most people choose a way of life that can promise material benefits and give self-gratification in this world. Celibacy as a way of loving radically and uniquely is a response to the difficulty of integrating sexuality in some priests and over the incomplete understanding of sexuality in the present situation. Celibacy is a life choice that shows personal maturity, including growing affective maturity and sexual integration. Sexuality is not understood only in matters relating to the genital organs and actions to gain pleasure. Sexuality is again seen as a gift from God that must be seen as part of the wholeness of the human self to be able to love oneself and others, develop themselves, and support life together.
