<![CDATA[Tawiri village of Ambon city has extensive mangrove forest about 8,8286 acres. The existing of mangrove forest ecosystem provides real functions and benefit to the local community, both ecological benefit, social benefit even economic benefit, but taking the benefit of the mangrove ecosystem, local community percept that mangrove forest is had by public that can be explored free and uncontrolled, than regardless the sustainability. Considering the potential of these resources to support the welfare and productivity of the surrounding environment, then the calculation of the economic value of mangrove resource is an attempt to look at the benefits and costs of monetary resources in the form of environmental consideration. This research is aimed to analyze the economic value of mangrove forest ecosystem in Tawiri village of Ambon city. Data analyzing data based on natural resources concept or environment concept according to Suparmoko (2002), and Reuitenbeek (1991). Research result shows that (1) direct benefit that is take by the local community is consist of 5 kinds of benefit, they are: firewood, fish, shell, drugs, and crabs; (2) total economic value of mangrove forest of 63.257.034 rupiah/year, consist of direct benefit value is 9.386.921 rupiah/year, indirect benefit value is 49.829.326 rupiah/year, existing benefit is 2.730.000 rupiah/year, and choice benefit is 1.319.787 rupiah/year.
