<![CDATA[Abstract This research covers the use of sociology of literarture as the teaching literature approach. The problems statement comes from the use of intrinsic elements in teaching literature recently. It uses library research method. Through sociology of literature, learning will be more interesting because it explores both intrinsically and extrincically. This research also gives the application of teaching literature using sociology of literature approach. Using sociology of literature, the teacher could teach students both intrinsically and extrinsically of literary works. For extrinsic elements, the teacher could connect the literary works to the social condition of the author and the social condition reflected in literary works.
