KAJIAN TENTANG PENGETAHUAN IBU DALAM PENGGUNAAN KONTRASEPSI SPIRAL DI DESA PEMATANG LIMAU

Abstrak Upaya mengatur kehamilan salah satunya dengan penggunaan kontrasepsi. Spiral merupakanmetode kontrasepsi yang tepat untuk pasangan usia subur (PUS). Data tahun 2013, Desa PematangLimau merupakan desa dengan capaian peserta kontrasepsi spiral tertinggi. Beberapa faktor yangmempengaruhi penggunaan kontrasepsi oleh ibu antara lain pengetahuan ibu. Tujuan penelitian iniadalah untuk mengkaji faktor pengetahuan ibu dalam penggunaan kontrasepsi spiral di Desa PematangLimau. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan informan penelitian sebanyak 3 akseptorkontrasepsi spiral. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa informan mengetahui kontrasepsi spiral adalahkontrasepsi tanpa hormon yang dipasang melalui alat kelamin perempuan dan dapat dipakai 8 hingga10 tahun, kelebihannya dapat dipakai jangka panjang, tidak ada efek peningkatan berat badan, tidakmempengaruhi produksi ASI, tidak merubah siklus menstruasi serta efek sampingnya keputihan,menstruasi lebih banyak dan lebih lama. Saran yang dapat diberikan yaitu penambahan leaflet danposter serta penyesuaian waktu pelaksanaan penyuluhan dengan kondisi masyarakat.Kata-kata kunci: kontrasepsi, spiral, pengetahuan ibu, Abstract The use of contraception is one of the ways to control the pregnancy (birth). Intraurine Device(IUD) is an appropriate contraceptive method for eligible coupless. The data of 2013 mentioned thatPematang Limau village was a village with the highest atainment of IUD contraception participants.Some of the factors which affect the use of contraception by mothers are the knowledge. This researchused a qualitative method with 7 research informants. The research informants were 3 acceptors of IUDcontaception. The result of this research showed that informants knew about IUD contraception as thenon-hormonal contraceptive method which is put inside the female genital and couod be used in 8 to 10years. The advantage of IUD is that IUD can be used in a long term, does not affect the production ofbreast milk, and does not affect the menstrual cycle. Meanwhile, the side effect of IUD is the increase ofmenstrual blood and period, and the apparance of flour albus. The advices given to the next researchare adding the leaflets or posters and adjusting the time of the socialization to the condition of thevillage.Keywords: spiral, contraception, maternal knowledge.
