Abstract

ABSTRACTTujuan dari penelitian untuk membandingkan dua metode yaitu metode contextual teaching learning dan discussion method dalam mengajarkan writing khususnya pada pengajaran procedure text. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada MTs Muhammadiyah 22 Padangsidimpuan dengan populasi 110 dan sampel diambil secara acak sehingga menjadi 78 siswa. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwasanya kemampuan siswa menjadi lebih meningkat dengan diajarkan menggunakan metode contextual teaching.Kata kunci: contextual teaching learning, discussion method dan procedure text.
