Ampicillin hydrolyzing class C ?-lactamase (AmpC) producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been recognized to be a serious opportunistic infection and due to the wide ability to create ?-lactamases made this bacteria resistance to many antibiotics. The results of the current study showed that 36(27.7%) isolates of P. aeruginosa from 130 isolates examined for cefoxitin susceptibility by disk diffusion method. Out of thirty six P. aeruginosa isolates , 29(80.6%) were cefoxitin resistant . The modified three dimension test and AmpC disck test were used confirm the production AmpC ?- lactamase in all cefoxitin resistant isolates , only 23(79.3%) isolates were phenotypically confirmed to produce AmpC beta-lactamase. The result of this study showed that 12/36 ( 33.3%) isolates were positive with blaAmpC gene by conventional PCR technique
