Abstract

ABSTRACTMost stroke patients receive polypharmacy, because most stroke patients have complications. Stroke therapy is important because if an interaction occurs, it can cause an increased risk of hospitalized patients and higher health care costs. This study is a descriptive study which aims to determine the prevalence of potential drug interactions that occur in inpatients of stroke hospitalization at Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado with retrospective data collection in October-December 2017. Samples were obtained as many as 40 patients. The results showed potential drug interactions in 20 patients (50%), with 57 potential interactions. Based on the mechanism, 30 events (52.63%) were pharmacokinetic, 15 events (26.31%) included in the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic combination and 12 events (21.05%) were pharmacodynamic. The potential severity of the drug, at the moderate level was found to be 27 potential (47.36%), at the minor level 16 potential (28.07%) and at the major level with 14 potential (24.56%). Keywords: Drug Interaction, Stroke ABSTRAKKebanyakan pasien stroke menerima obat polifarmasi karena sebagian besar pasien stroke mengalami komplikasi.
