<![CDATA[ABSTRAKKeberadaan Tokoh Adat pada saat Pemilihan Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur Maluku Utara tahun 2018 sangat dirasakan perannya terkait dengan dukungan masyarakat terhadap pasangan calon. Terutama bagi calon yang didukung oleh Tokoh Adat. Disamping perannya terhadap para pasangan calon, keberadaan Tokoh Adat juga berpengaruh terhadap tingkat partisipasi politik masyarakat. Namun faktanya, khusus di Kota Ternate, pasangan yang didukung oleh Tokoh Adat walaupun meraih kemenangan namun perolehan suaranya tidak terlalu signifikan jika dibandingkan dengan pasangan yang tidak di dukung oleh Tokoh Adat. Hal itu disebabkan karena masyarakat yang ada di Kota Ternate, sudah banyak yang berasal dari luar pulau. Hal tersebut menyebabkan pengaruh Tokoh Adat menjadi berkurang, dan tidak efektif untuk menjaring dukungan masyarakat pemilih. Kata Kunci      :              Peran; Tokoh Adat; Partisipasi; Pemilihan Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur  ABSTRACTThe role of traditional figures during the election for the governor and deputy governor of North Maluku in 2018 is strongly felt in terms of community support for candidate pairs.
