<![CDATA[ABSTRAKTulisan ini bertujuan untuk melihat dan menelaah fungsi lembaga kepolisian dalam menjalankan fungsi memelihara kemanan dan ketertiban, penegakan hukum serta memberikan perlindungan, pengayoman dan pelayanan kepada masyarakat. Tulisan ini lebih memfokuskan untuk melihat bagaimana peranan kepolisian sector Butumoito dalam penanggulangan produksi cap tikus di Desa Rumbia. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Polsek Butumoito sangat efektif dalam menjalankan tugas dan fungsi seperti apa yang diamanahkan dalam UU No. 2 Tahun 2002. Namun ada beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi diantaranya adalah faktor lingkungan/kondisi sumber daya alam yang sangat menjanjikan kebutuhan ekonomi masyarakat Rumbia dengan keberadaan pohon aren serta faktor kebutuhan ekonomi. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi kontribusi pemikiran bagi pemangku kepentingan, baik Polsek Butumoito maupun Pemerintah Daerah Boalemo dalam menyikapi masalah produksi cap tikus di desa Rumbia Kecamatan Butumoito Kabupaten Boalemo.  Kata Kunci : Peranan, Polsek Butumoito, Cap Tikus, Rumbia  ABSTRACTThis paper aims to see and examine the function of the police institution in carrying out the functions of maintaining security and order, law enforcement and providing protection, protection and service to the community. This paper focuses more on seeing the role of the Butumoito police sector in tackling cap tikus production in Rumbia Village. The results showed that the Butumoito Sector Police were very effective in carrying out the duties and functions as mandated in Law No. 2 of 2002. However, there are several factors that influence them, including environmental factors / natural resource conditions that are very promising the economic needs of the Rumbia community with the presence of palm trees and economic need factors.
