Experiential Learning in Poetry Writing Lessons for Class X High School Students. This study aims at describing the effectiveness of experiential learning in learning poetry at the tenth class SMA LPP UMI Makassar by using an experimental research design type One Groups Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this study is the whole class X SMA LPP UMI Makassar, and the sample collection was taken using a purposive sampling technique. Data in this study were collected using observation techniques and oral tests which were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and inferential statistics. The results showed that experiential learning was effectively used in poetry writing at the tenth class students of LPP UMI Makassar. This is based on the results of data analysis which shows that on average the results of students’ poetry writing ability tests after applying experiential learning methods are higher than the results of students' poetry writing ability tests before applying experiential learning methods.
