<![CDATA[This article discusses the development of psychotherapy conducted at an Islamic boarding school. The study of the dynamics of students with special characteristics in Islamic boarding schools is still very limited. This article aims to reveal psychotherapy in the handling of students with special needs at Bait As-Shuffah An Nahdliyah, an Islamic boarding school in Rembang. The subject is a student with special needs and this student receives therapeutic care because of the need for intensive care and to explore further the student’s problems and conditions. Data obtained through observation and interviews. Through a qualitative descriptive analysis approach, the results show that Bait As-Shuffah An Nahdliyah has applied psychotherapy in a psychological and also an Islamic approach, especially in a psychosufistic approach. This shows that there is a development in Islamic boarding school's assistance models that refers to combining the application of interventions with psychological concepts and the Sufism concepts.]]>
