The objective of this research is to find out the relationship of procedural justice, university governance, job characteristic and job satisfaction with work motivation of the lecturers of Mulawarman University. This research used the method of a survey with a correlation technique and 132 lecturers were taken using a proportional sampling technique. The data were obtained by distributing a questionnaire and studying some documentation. The data were analyzed using correlation analysis, multiple and simple regression. The result of the research shows that (1) there is a positive relationship between procedural justice with work motivation, (2) there is a positive relationship between university governance with work    motivation, (3) there is a positive relationship between job characteristic with work motivation, (4) there is a positive relationship between job satisfaction with work motivation, and (5) there is a positive relationship of procedural justice, university governance, job characteristic, and job satisfaction simultaneously with work motivation. Therefore, to strengthen the work motivation of the lecturers of Mulawarman University, the procedural justice and university governance should be carried out appropriately and professionally, and the job characteristics and job satisfaction should be taken into a serious concern.Keywords: job characteristic and job satisfaction and work motivation
