Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa inggris awal anak melalui metode total physical response (TPR) di kelas B Al-Rasyid 2. Bahasa inggris awal anak dapat ditingkatkan sejak usia dini. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan subjek penelitian berjumlah 10 anak. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah metode total physical response, pengumpulan data dimulai dari observasi teknik analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berbahasa inggris awal anak meningkat setelah diberi tindakan yang sesuai dengan metode TPR. Nilai persentase pada pra siklus mencapai 32% dengan kriteria Belum Berkembang (BB), pada siklus 1 nilai persentase sebesar rata-rata mencapai 66% dengan kriteria Mulai Berkembang (MB) dan mengalami peningkatan pada siklus 2 sebesar 86% dengan kriteria Berkembang Sangat Baik (BSB) sedangkan target keberhasilan penelitian ini adalah 80% dengan demikian kemampuan bahasa inggris awal dapat ditingkatkan melalui metode TPR.Kata Kunci : Bahasa Inggris Awal, Metode Total Physical Response AbstractThis research have a puspose to improve children's early English skills using the total physical response method in class B Al-Rasyid 2. Children's early English can be improved from an early age. This research is a classroom action research with research subjects are 10 children. The independent variable of this research is the total physical response method of data collection starting from the observation of data analysis techniques done in quantitative descriptive. The results showed that children's early English language skills improved after being given an action in accordance with the Total Physical Response method. The percentage value in the pre-cycle reaches 32% with the criteria of Not Developing in cycle 1 the percentage value is on average reaches 66% with the criteria of Starting to Develop and has increased in cycle 2 by 86% with the criteria of Very Good Developing while the target of the success of this research is 80% so that the initial English language skills can be improved using the total physical response method.Keywords: Early English, Total Physical Response
