ABSTRAKArthritis Gout merupakan peradangan pada sendi yang disebabkan oleh peningkatan kadar asam urat dalam darah, karena terganggunya metabolisme purin (hiperurisemia) dalam tubuh yang ditandai dengan nyeri sendi, sehingga dapat mengganggu aktifitas. Disamping penataksanaan secara farmakologi, penggunaan bahan herbal daun salam (Sysgium Polyanthum) dapat dijadikan alternatif untuk mengobati arthritis gout. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian air rebusan daun salam terhadap kadar asam urat pada pasien arthritis gout. Penelitian ini bersifat pre eksperiment dengan one-group pre-test dan post-test design. Penelitian dilakukan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Alai Kota Padang, November sampai Juni 2019. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh penderita gout di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Alai Kota Padang berjumlah 118 orang. Sampel diambil dengan Teknik purposive sampling, sebanyak 8 orang. Data diolah menggunakan uji t-dependen. Hasil penelitian didapatkan rata - rata kadar asam urat sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan pemberian air rebusan daun salam adalah 5.7 mg/dl dan 4,9 mg/dl, nilai p-value = 0,000 (P<0,05), berarti ada pengaruh pemberian air rebusan daun salam terhadap kadar asam urat pada penderita Arthritis Gout. Pemberian air rebusan daun salam memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kadar asam urat pada penderita Arthritis Gout, sehingga bisa dijadikan salah satu terapi komplementer untuk menurunkan kadar asam urat pada pasien arthritis gout.Kata Kunci: Asam Urat, Daun Salam, Arthritis ABSTRACTArthritis Gout is an inflammation of the joints caused by elevated levels of uric acid in the blood, because of the disruption of purine metabolism (hyperuricemia) in the body characterized by joint pain, which interfere the activities. Beside pharmacological governance, Indonesian Bay-Leaf (Sysgium Polyanthum) can be used as an alternative to treat gout arthritis. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of Indonesian Bay-Leaf water- stew on uric acid levels in patients with gout arthritis. This study is pre-experimental research with one-group pre-test and post-test design. The research was conducted in the working area of Alai Kota Padang, November to June 2019. The population in this study is all gout sufferers in the working area of Alai Kota Padang amounted to 118 people. The samples were taken with purposive sampling technique, as much as 8 people. Data is processed using the T-dependent test. The results of the study obtained average levels of uric acid before and after the water administration is given the leaf decoction is 5.7 mg/dl and 4.9 mg/dl, the p-value = 0.000 (P < 0.05), means there is a significant effect of leaf stew to uric acid levels in patients with Arthritis Gout. Indonesian Bay-Leaf water-stew has a significant effect on the levels of uric acid in patients with Arthritis Gout, so that it can be used as a complementary therapy to lower uric acid levels in patients with gout arthritis.Keywords: Uric Acid, Indonesian Bay-Leaf, Arthritis
