There are two primary problems of aviation and aerospace governance in Indonesia, the lack of documentation tradition and the lack of passion for research in the aviation and aerospace field. Concerning those issues, the archivistics perspective could effectively contribute to tackling those problems. The research aims to describe the concept of the center for the study of the Indonesian aviation and aerospace archives. In archive management, aviation and aerospace archives can be categorized as special collections. Used the literature review method, this research found that the concept of the center for the study of the Indonesian aviation and aerospace archives is used by the national archival institution either to fulfill one of the archives administration objectives and also to help the aviation and aerospace community tackle the problems of aerospace governance in Indonesia. As preliminary research, this research needs further development by the next researcher so that the concepts of the center for the study of the Indonesian aviation and aerospace archives easier to translate at the policy level.
