<![CDATA[Abstrak – Undang – Undang Perlindungan Konsumen mengatur tentang perlindungan bagi konsumen yang bersifat umum dan diatur secara khusus dalam Undang – Undang Pangan. Terasi merupakan salah sa tu yang paling sering dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat. 3 warga di Mataram mengalami gejala mual, muntah, sakit perut, dan tekanan darah rendah setelah mengkonsumsi terasi yang merupakan hasil produksi Koperasi Industri Terasi Alba di Kecamatan Rumbia, Kabupaten Bombana, Sulawesi Tenggara. Tim B adan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (yang selanjutnya disebut BPOM) menemukan bumbu dapur jenis terasi yang mengandung Rhodamin B atau zat pewarna pakaian. Terasi y ang mengandung Rhodamin B atau zat pewarna pakaian yang beredar merupakan tanggung jawab Koperasi Industri Terasi Alba k arena telah memproduksi produk tidak layak yang telah beredar di dalam masyarakat. Berdasarkan prinsip tanggung jawab yaitu prinsip tan ggung jawab produk , Koperasi Industri Terasi Alba bertanggung gugat untuk produk terasi yang diproduksi dan diedarkannya karena menimbulkan kerugian yaitu cacat yang terdapat pada produk karena mengandung Rhodamin B. BPSK dan LPKSM dapat menggugat pelaku usaha tan pa adanya aduan dari konsumen yang bersangkutan.
