<![CDATA[Song lyrics have a unique use of language such as poetry. Through song lyrics, musicians can convey ideas, feelings, and thought with tone and rhythm. The “purpose of this study was to determine the meaning and message contained in the lyrics of the song” “Linked” from Nadin Amizah. The method used is descriptive qualitative which analyzes the meaning and message of the song lyrics “Linked” which is studied with a semiotic approach in order to extract meaning by giving a signifier and signified to the song lyrics. “This research was conducated in several steps, namely: (1) choosing a song, (2) analyzing the song lyrics using a semiotic approach, (3) determining the signifier and signified, (4) describing the results in writing. The results of this research show that the signifier is lyrics of the song “Linked” and the signified are the meanings contained in the lyrics”. The meaning contained in the lyrics of this song is the bond between mother and child which is likened to a hearth that links and continues to beat until the end of life. The message can be taken from this song is that the mother will always be by her child’s side to keep fighting until the end.]]>
