<![CDATA[The problem in this study is the use of code mixing in the WhatsApp group of UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta students. This study aims to describe the use of code mixing in WhatsApp groups by students of UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. The approach used in this research is qualitative. The data source in this study was a conversation between students of UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta in one of the WhatsApp group forums. The data collection technique used in this study is the technique of observation and interviews with conversations conducted by students of UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta in one of the WhatsApp group forums. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that the use of code mixing in WhatsApp groups by students of UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta tends to be often used for the reasons; to be more efficient, to emphasize something, to mention identity, and also to not have the right equivalent. The results of this study can be useful as knowledge about the use and purpose of code mixing in WhatsApp groups of UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta students and as a reference for future research.Keywords: Code mixing; Undergraduate student; WhatsApp]]>
