<![CDATA[This research aims to improve students Scientific Writing Skills in X MIA 4 SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar through the implementation of Discovery Learning combined Reading Assignment. This research is a class action research which consists of three cycles. Each cycle contains planning, action, observing, and reflecting. The subjects of this research is students in X MIA 4 of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar. The data collection of this research are using performance assessment scientific writing skills. The data validation of this research is using triangulation method. The data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis which is done in three components, they are: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing the conclusion or verification. Target of this research can increase students Scientific Writing Skills to 50% after being given of Discovery Learning combined Reading Assignment. The results show that Scientific Writing Skills of students is increased from precycle, Cycle I, Cycle II, and Cycle III. The average of students Scientific Writing Skills students increase from 32.56% to 52.84%. This research conclusion is the implementation of Discovery Learning combined Reading Assignment can improve students Scientific Writing Skills in X MIA 4 class at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar. Keywords: Scientific Writing Skills, Discovery Learning, Reading Assignment]]>
