ABSTRAKPenyelenggaraan pemilihan umum merupakan tugas pokok dari Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU). Tugas tersebut harus bisa dilaksanakan dengan cara independen dan non partisian, agar kedaulatan rakyat untuk menghasilkan suatu pemerintahan dapat berjalan sebagaimana mestinya. Partisipasi politik merupakan salah satu indikator dari keberhasilan KPU dalam pelaksanaan pemilihan umum. Penelitian ini mencoba melihat kinerja KPUD Kabupaten Halmahera Barat pada pemilihan umum serentak tahun 2019, dikaitkan dengan partisipasi politik masyarakat. Temuan penelitian menggambarkan kinerja KPUD Kabupaten Halmahera Barat sudah baik dilihat dari tingkat partisipasi masyarakat pada pemilu tersebut yang tergolong tinggi. Kata Kunci: Kinerja; Komisi Pemilihan Umum; Partisipsasi Masyarakat   ABSTRACTThe holding of general elections is the main task of the General Election Commission (KPU). This task must be carried out in an independent and non-partisan way, so that the people's sovereignty to produce a government can run properly. Political participation is one indicator of the KPU's success in the implementation of general elections. This research tries to see the performance of the Election Commission for West Halmahera Regency in the 2019 simultaneous general election, in relation to the political participation of the community. The research findings illustrate that the performance of the Election Commission of West Halmahera Regency is good, seen from the relatively high level of community participation in the election. Keywords: Performance; General Election Commissions; Community Participation
