Abstract

ABSTRAKSalah satu kemampuan yang diperlukan pada abad pengetahuan sekarang ini adalah kemampuan berpikir kritis. Masih banyak ditemukan bahwa pembelajaran di sekolah kurang bermakna sehingga masih banyak siswa yang pasif, kurang inisiatif dan kurang kreatif dalam berpikir. Pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis diharapkan membantu siswa dalam membuat keputusan dan menyelesaikan masalah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh strategi project based learning dengan ThinkQuest terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis fisika siswa dibandingkan dengan project based learning tanpa ThinkQuest. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen Postest Only Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XII IPA SMAN 1 Kraksaan tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. Penelitian ini dipilih berdasarkan teknik random sampling. Satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas sebagai kelas kontrol. Siswa kelas eksperimen terhubung dengan layanan online ThinkQuest selama penyelesaian tugas proyek mulai dari penentuan judul proyek beserta pertanyaan penuntunnya, kegiatan observasi dan tampilan presentasi sebagai produk akhir proyek. Data penelitian berupa skor tes uraian kemampuan berpikir kritis fisika siswa pada materi induksi elektromagnet dan penilaian autentik. Data dianalisis dengan uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas sebagai prasyarat analisis serta uji beda (uji t) dan uji efektivitas (uji Tukey). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan project based learning dengan menggunakan ThinkQuest lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan project based Learning tanpa ThinkQuest. Project based learning dengan menggunakan ThinkQuest terbukti membantu siswa menjadi kolaborator, mengembangkan keterampilan bertanya, kemampuan berbagi ide dan mendiskusikan ide, mencari dan menganalisis informasi dari berbagai sumber serta membuat presentasi multimedia. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disarankan agar guru fisika menggunakan project based learning dengan menggunakan ThinkQuest karena telah terbukti dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis fisika siswa.ABSTRACTOne of the ability required in today's knowledge era is the ability to think critically. It has been found that learning at school is relatively less meaningful learning due to many students are passive, lack of initiative and creative thinking. The development of critical thinking skills assist, students in making decisions and solving problems. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of project-based learning using ThinkQuest on the physics critical thinking skills of student. The design of the research was quasi experiment with Posttest Only Control Group Design. The populations were the XII grade science student at SMAN 1 Kraksaan academic year of 2012/2013. The sample was selected based on random sampling technique. One class was assigned as experiment group and the other class as control group. All students of experimental group connected to the ThinkQuest online services for the completion of the project work starting from the determination of the title of the project with driving questions, observations and view the presentation as a final product of the project. There two different kinds of data, i.e. data of score test of student critical thinking skill in the topic of electromagnetic induction and data of authentic assessment. The data were analyzed by means of normality test and homogeneity test prior to t test and Tuckey test. The results of the research showed that the project-based learning using ThinkQuest is more effective than project-based learning without ThinkQuest. Project based learning using ThinkQuest helps students become collaborators, develop questioning skills, the ability to share ideas and discuss ideas, find and analyze information from various sources and create multimedia presentations.Based on the result, it is suggested that the physics teachers need to apply project based learning using ThinkQuest due to it could improve on the physics critical thinking skills of students.
