Abstract

Until now, Tuberculosis still has to be overcome in the community, where the government has made treatment programs and guidelines for treating Tuberculosis disease to handle these cases according to national standards. This is due to the high rate of treatment non-compliance in tuberculosis patients. Tuberculosis cases in Manokwari, West Papua, were recorded as many as 4,645 cases in 2017 and after evaluating the recovery of 352 cases, this means that the TB cure rate is still below the target according to the strategic plan to be achieved in 2017, which is 90%, while in 2017 the cure rate is 37 , 73%. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and adherence to treatment of tuberculosis patients at Sanggeng Public Health Center, Manokwari Regency. This type of research is a quantitative study using a cross sectional research design. This research was conducted from August to September 2020 at the Sanggeng Health Center, Manokwari Regency, with 45 respondents in the sample. The results of the chi square test showed that there was a significant relationship between family support and patient compliance with tuberculosis medication with a p-value = 0.000. The conclusion is that there is a significant relationship between family support and patient compliance with tuberculosis medication at Sanggeng Public Health Center, Manokwari Regency.
