Pembelajaran memahami isi cerita legenda kelas VIII SMP di Kabupaten Pemalang mengalami kendala dalam penggunaan media pembelajaran, sehingga perlu diadakannya penelitian ini yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan audio cerita legenda sesuai dengan kebutuhan guru dan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Desain penelitian adalah Research and development (R&D). Instrumen penelitian menggunakan angket kebutuhan siswa, pedoman wawancara guru dan siswa, angket uji ahli media dan materi, angket tanggapan siswa, dan pedoman wawancara guru terhadap hasil ujicoba. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian pengembangan ini adalah audio cerita legenda dumadine desa widuri yang sudah dinyatakan layak untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran memahami isi cerita legenda kelas VIII SMP di Kabupaten Pemalang. The learning of comprehending contents of the legend story for the eighth grade of Junior High School in Pemalang have been problems of the using learning media. Based on the problems, it needs a research aims to develop an audio of the legend story which suit the needs of the teachers and students in the learning process. The research using Research and Development’s method. The instruments using questionnaire of the needs of the students, teacher and student’s interview guidance, questionnaire test of the material and media expert, questionnaire of the student’s responses, and teacher’s interview guidance on the test result. The data analysis using qualitative and descriptive’s analysis. The product of the research is an audio of the legend story entitled dumadine desa widuri which has been declared suitable to use as a media to the learning of comprehending contents of the legend story for the eighth grade of Junior High School in Pemalang.
