Introduction: Elderly is the closing period in a person's life span that starts from the age of 60 years until the death and is characterized by decreasing physical and psychological changes. Changes that occur in the elderly can cause problems one of them is the risk of falling which can cause injury to death. There are several methods to reduce the risk of falling with the results that reduce the incidence of falls, one of it is physical exercise. One of the physical exercises is a balance exercise. Balance exercise is an exercise that is done specifically to help increase muscle strength especially in the lower limbs and body balance (vestibular system).The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of balance training on the risk of falling. Method: This research uses systematic literature review method. Articles were selected through screening according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The limit of the year the article was published was from 2011 to 2021. The research sample used was at least 15 respondents. Results: Based on 6 articles that have been reviewed, it was found that balance training has an effect on reducing the risk of falling in the elderly. Conclusions: Balance exercise affects the risk of falling in the elderly. Suggestions for nurses and health workers to provide preventif efforts for elderly with risk of falling.
