<![CDATA[ABSTRACT Depo-Medroxyprogesterone Acetate (DMPA) injectable hormonal contraception is one of the widely used contraceptive methods. 3 month injectable hormonal contraception contains progesterone with failure rate <1% per year. This method is given by injection every 3 months at a dose of 150 mg. But in its use, changes in menstrual patterns and weight gain are side effects of DMPA. The aim of the study is to study the factors associated with weight gain of active family planning participants at BP. Muslimat Selorejo Village, Mojowarno District This type of research is cross sectional analytic. The variables in this study are the factors associated with weight gain. In this study the population was 50 active KB acceptors. This research was conducted in June-September 2019 with a sample of 50 respondents. Total Sampling Technique. The research instrument uses a check book and family planning visit books. Statistical tests using Backward Stepwis The results obtained by more than half chose 3 months injection contraception as many as 37 respondents (74%), more than half have 1-5 years using injections that is 31 respondents (62%), most respondents have 3x or more frequency of eating as much as 44 (44%) 88%). Backward Stepwis test results showed that the value of p = 0.018, means the value of p value is smaller than the significance level (α) which is 0.05 so that it can be concluded as a risk factor between weight gain and the length of time the respondent used injecting birth control. Odd ratio calculation analysis shows injecting family planning acceptors who have used more than 5 years 6.409 times greater risk to increase body weight than injecting family planning acceptors who use less than 5 years. More family planning acceptors who have been using it for 1-5 years to replace other types of contraception. Health personnel increase understanding of the side effects of each contraceptive.
