The background of this research is to find out how the role of parents in fostering children's interest in reading the Qur'an after completing the Al-Qur'an in 2017 in Jorong Cupak, Kenagarian Pakan Sinayan, Kec. Banuhampu, Kab. Agam. the problem is that many of the children after completing the Al-Qur'an in 2017 are no longer fluent in reading the Qur'an, this is proven when Jorong Cupak conducts the maghrib reciting program which is after completing the Qur'an in 2017 they did not want to take part in the Koran because they admitted that they were no longer fluent in the Koran. This research is a field research (field research) with a qualitative descriptive approach, in this study the author describes the problems that exist in the field according to the facts that the authors find in the field. The data collection technique is through observation, interviews, and documentation. The author uses key, main and supporting informants to obtain data. Then the writer analyzed the data using descriptive analytic. The author uses data triagulation as a technique to check the validity of the data. Based on the results of research and data analysis that the authors did, it can be concluded that parents in Jorong Cupak, Kenagarian Pakan Sinayan, Kec. Banuhampu, kab. Religion has carried out its roles to its children, including providing guidance, habituation, providing encouragement, providing supervision, providing facilities and infrastructure, and giving punishments and gifts. The obstacles faced by both parents are first from external factors such as gaged and peers. Both parents have not fully in carrying out the role of their children. Both of these things are greatly affected by the increasing interest in reading the Qur'an in children.
