This article aims to explore the philosophical meaning of the ambengan tradition on Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha for the people of Tulungagung as a source of cultural history. The types of data in this study are qualitative in the form of narratives, descriptions, and descriptions related to the Ambengan tradition. Data sources are primary and secondary. The instrument in this research is in the form of interview and observation guidelines. In this study, the data was carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results of the research show that Javanese tradition is a hereditary form of our ancestors. A tradition that must be faced and preserved. In Tulungagung society, there is a tradition of ambengan at the time of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Traditions that exist and are passed down from generation to generation and are preserved by the people of Tulungagung.
