The concept of science in Islam is an integral part of the Islamic worldview or way of life, so that it has its own characteristics that make it different from concepts in other civilizations. This paper is sourced from several literatures related to the subject matter, and the analysis uses content analysis. In conclusion, science according to the Islamic view of life not only covers the substance of knowledge, but also becomes an important element in civilization. With regard to the urgency of the position of science, several figures such as Ibn Khaldun, Imam al-Ghazali, or Syed Muhammad Naurib Al-Attas provide several characteristics of the classification of knowledge to place which one is more priority, which in the future is related to how the object of knowledge in Islam is determined. From the narratives of these figures, it can be seen that science in Islam is not only the sciences of faith and sharia, but there are also a number of other sciences such as physics, biology, and so on that need to be studied.
