<![CDATA[Aim: To assess the level of nicotine dependence using Fagerstrom tolerance to nicotine dependencequestionnaire among tobacco chewers and smokers.Materials and Method: About 30 participants were included in the study and divided into two groupsin which 15 had the habit of using smokeless tobacco and 15 were smokers. Fagerstrom Tolerance toNicotine Dependence (FTND) questionnaire was given to the participants which has a scoring pointsfor their answers through which level of nicotine dependence is assessed.Results: The overall score for nicotine dependence when compared between the two groups the resultwas statistically significant.Conclusion: The level of nicotine dependence helps to plan for the treatment and also motivate thetobacco users to quit the habit.]]>
