This research was motivated by the problems identified in class IV SDN 1 Rendang, namely the low activity and mathematics learning outcomes of students. The purpose of this study was to increase the activeness and learning outcomes of mathematics through the implementation of a scientific approach on the STAD cooperative learning model. The subjects of this study were 33 class IV semester I SDN 1 Rendang students in the academic year 2017/2018. The object of research is active learning and learning outcomes. Learning activity data were collected by means of observation sheets, while data on learning outcomes were collected by means of tests. Data were analyzed descriptively. The criteria for the success of the study were active learning in the active category and classical learning completeness at least 85%. This research was conducted in two cycles. The results showed that student learning activeness was in the active category. Student learning outcomes also met the established success criteria, namely the student's average score of 75.30, absorption of 75.30%, and mastery of learning 87.88%. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of a scientific approach with the STAD cooperative learning model can increase student activity and learning outcomes in mathematics. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya permasalahan yang teridentifikasi di kelas IV SDN 1 Rendang yaitu rendahnya keaktifan dan hasil belajar matematika siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar matematika melalui implementasi pendekatan saintifik pada model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV semester I SDN 1 Rendang tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 sebanyak 33 orang. Objek penelitian adalah keaktifan belajar dan hasil belajar. Data keaktifan belajar dikumpulkan dengan lembar observasi, sedangkan data hasil belajar dikumpulkan dengan tes. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Kriteria keberhasilan penelitian adalah keaktifan belajar pada kategori aktif dan dan ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal minimal 85%. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keaktifan belajar siswa ada pada kategori aktif. Capaian hasil belajar siswa juga memenuhi kriteria keberhasilan yang ditetapkan yakni nilai rata-rata siswa 75,30, daya serap 75,30%, dan ketuntasan belajar 87,88%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkkan bahwa implementasi pendekatan saintifik dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dapat meningkatkan keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika.
