The application of Kato nan Ampek in the counseling process is very good for a counselor, because with the understanding of Kato nan Ampek can prevent disputes between counselors and clients. It because Kato Nan Ampek explains how a counselor talks to people who are appropriate for their age. This research aims to illustrate the application of Kato nan Ampek for a counselor in West Sumatra in carrying out the counseling process. This study uses literature review methods. From the results of these scientific works explained that the Kato nan Ampek can be applied to all counselors in the counseling process. It because with Kato nan Ampek can build smooth counseling and can also build relationships between counselors and clients well.
