Career planning is equated with job selection. Actually the meaning of a career is broader than just choosing a job. Career is related to a person's development and becomes an important part in the success of one's life, for that career needs to be planned properly. Based on this, the aim of this research is to describe the role of child special development institutions (LPKA) in the career development of the childhood. This research use field research method. The findings of this research is the role of Child Special Development Institution (LPKA) in preparing the careers of child offenders related to fostering independence is to provide provisions such as farming, sewing, automotive, and so on. LPKA also collaborates with BLK so that the fostered children get better provision after they have finished undergoing the rehabilitation/ coaching period in special children's institutions.
