<![CDATA[Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has alarmed an urgent change in all spectra on the lives of peopleincluding education sector. Objective: This narrative review summarizes the challenges of online educationin nursing and explores the possible opportunities to improve or maintain the standards of nursing education.Methods: A comprehensive literature search was done to identify the challenges of online education innursing. Seven primary studies meeting the inclusion criteria, published from the onset of COVID-19 until5th September 2020 were included in this narrative review. Results: The available literature shows that,students are missing the practical aspects of nursing care, the real essence of nursing education duringe-learning, cancellation of international training, loss of job opportunities due to lack of confidence intheir skill are bothersome for students and educators. Success of e-learning is also affected by internetconnectivity issues, problem with electricity and lack of computer literacy. At the same time, it is found thatonline education delivery is substituting theory learning to a great extent, however practical training remainsindispensable for nursing education. Conclusion: Continuous engagement and motivation from the part ofboth the students and nurse educators is very essential in meeting the educational needs during this crisis.]]>
