<![CDATA[The shape and dimension of riser influence shrinkage defect in sand casting product. It influences the rate of solidification of the metal in mould cavity. The goal of this research is to investigate the effect of casting modulus to shrinkage defect. This research uses different shape and dimension of the riser. Three type of risers was used with the same gating system. The result of the research shows that the casting modulus influences shrinkage defect in castings. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Bentuk dan dimensi riser mempengaruhi terjadinya cacat penyusutan pada produk cor cetakan pasir. Bentuk dan dimensi riser ini mempengaruhi laju pembekuan cairan logam di rongga cetakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh nilai casting modulus terhadap cacat penyusutan. Penelitian ini menggunakan riser dengan bentuk dan casting modulus berbeda. Ketiga jenis riser menggunakan sistem saluran yang sama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa casting modulus mempengaruhi terjadinya cacat penyusutan pada produk cor. Kata kunci: pengecoran cetakan pasir, casting modulus, riser.]]>
