Abstract

This study aims to improve student achievement in civic education (PPKn) subjects at SMA Negeri 2 Jambi City in the odd semester of the 2018/2019 academic year by using the Problem Based Learning (PbL) method. This research method is CAR (Classroom Action Research) with three cycles consisting of four stages, namely plan (planning), do (action), see (observation), and reflection. The subjects of this study were students of class XII IPA 2 SMA Negeri 2 Jambi City which consisted of 36 students. The research instruments include: (1) observation sheets on the implementation of lesson plans, (2) student response questionnaires, and (3) learning outcomes tests. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical analysis in the form of the percentage of completeness and student learning outcomes. The results of the study show that the implementation of Problem Based Learning (PbL) can improve student achievement in class XII IPA 2 SMA Negeri 2 Jambi City Jambi Province for the 2018/2019 academic year. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran pendidikan kewarganegaraan (PPKn) di SMA Negeri 2 Kota Jambi semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2018/2019 dengan menggunakan metode Problem Based Learning (PbL). Metode penelitian ini adalah PTK (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas) dengan tiga siklus yang terdiri dari empat tahapan, yaitu plan (perencanaan), do (tindakan), see (observasi), dan refleksi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XII IPA 2 SMA Negeri 2 Kota Jambi yang terdiri dari 36 orang siswa. Instrumen penelitian mencakup: (1) lembar observasi keterlaksanaan RPP, (2) angket respon siswa, dan (3) tes hasil belajar. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif berupa persentase ketuntasan dan hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi Problem Based Learning (PbL) dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa kelas XII IPA 2 SMA Negeri 2 Kota Jambi Provinsi Jambi tahun ajaran 2018/2019.
