PENGEMBANGAN BAHAN AJAR FUNCHEM BERWAWASAN SOCIO- SCIENCES MELALUI INKUIRI TERBIMBING SEBAGAI UPAYA MENINGKATKAN LITERASI SAINS SISWA

Abstract

AbstrakLiterasi sains siswa Indonesia menempati posisi yang memprihatinkan, pada ta- hun 2012 siswa Indonesia menempati posisi 64 dari 65 negara peserta untuk aspek literasi sains (OECD, 2013). Peneliti bermaksud mengembangkan bahan ajar ber- wawasan socio-sciences yang dapat menjembatani antara teori yang dipelajari siswa di sekolah dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah meng- etahui kelayakan bahan ajar FunChem berwawasan socio-sciences dalam meningkat- kan literasi sains siswa di SMK. Penelitian ini menggunakan prosedur R&D yang meliputi tahap define,design,dan develop. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahan ajar FunChem berwawasan socio-sciences yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria valid, efektif dan mendapat respon positif dari siswa, dengan capaian N-gain untuk kom- petensi literasi sains sebesar 0,68 (sedang). Hal ini dikarenakan karakteristik dari ba- han ajar FunChem yang dibuat menyenangkan, juga mengkaitkan isu sosial ilmiah dengan pokok materi kimia yaitu redoks. Bahan ajar FunChem juga dilengkapi den- gan lembar kerja inkuiri yang membantu siswa menyusun pola dalam penemuan konsep yang diharapkan.AbstractIndonesian students’ level of  scientific literacy in the world occupies a worrying position. Indonesian students in 2012 was ranked 64th from 65 participating countries for the scienti- fic literacy aspect (OECD, 2013). Researcher intends to develop teaching materials that can be a bridge of  gap between theory learned in school with everyday life situation. The aim of this research is to determine the feasibility of  FunChem learning materials Integrated to socio-sciences to increase the scientific literacy of  vocational school. This research used R & D procedures that consist of define, design, and develops stage. Technique to analysis data is descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results is the FunChem learning materials fulfills the criteria for a valid, effective and has a positive response from students, with the N-gain performance for scientific literacy competency is 0.68 (medium). This is because the characteristics of the FunChem learning materials is made funny, also linking the socio scien- ce issues to the chemistry subject matter, espescially redox. The FunChem learning materials are also equipped with inquiry worksheets that help students construct a pattern in which the invention of the concept are expected.
