Abstract: This study aims to determine student perceptions and the obstacles todistance learning in the Kanji IV course of the Japanese Language Education StudyProgram. This research is quantitative and descriptive. The research population isJapanese Language Education students batch 2019 who have taken Kanji IV courses inthe odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year with a research sample of 33 students.The data analysis technique used a Likert scale measurement. The results of data analysisobtained in this study indicate that students' perceptions of distance learning Kanji IVon indicators of learning quality are very good. The implementation of distance learningin Kanji IV courses is following the RPS (Semester Learning Plan) which is supportedby media and adapted teaching materials. Meanwhile, the obstacles experienced bystudents in implementing distant learning are in terms of understanding, environment,and independent learning attitudeKey Word: Perception, Distance Learning
