Penelitian yang dilakukan didasarkan karena belum maksimalnya tingkat perilaku asertif dalam menyampaikan pendapat di kelas dan rendahnya kepercayaan diri yang dimiliki siswa di SMPN 21 Semarang yang didapatkan dari hasil assesment kebutuhan siswa saat peneliti melakukan PPL di SMPN 21 Semarang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh data yang menunjukkan hubungan antara kepercayaan diri dengan perilaku asertif pada siswa di SMPN 21 Semarang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif expo post facto berdesain korelasional. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 247 siswa dari 869 jumlah populasi yang ditentukan melalui proportionate stratified random sampling. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan yaitu positif, artinya ada hubungan antara kepercayaan diri dengan perilaku asertif dalam menyampaikan pendapat di kelas pada siswa SMPN 21 Semarang. Selain itu, terdapat hubungan yang sinifikan antara kepercayaan diri dan perilaku asertif pada siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang sudah dilakukan, guru BK sekolah diharapkan dapat melakukan layanan BK yang berhubungan dengan kepercayaan diri, mengingat pentingnya kepercayaan diri yang dimiliki siswa serta dampaknya bagi siswa sehingga siswa bisa terhindar dari perilaku yang menyimpang seperti bullying di lingkungan sekolahnya. This research is based on the fact that the level of assertive behavior is not maximal in expressing opinions in class and the low self-confidence of students at SMPN 21 Semarang which is obtained from the results of an assessment of student needs when researchers do PPL at SMPN 21 Semarang. The purpose of this research was to obtain data showing the relation between self-confidence and assertive behavior in students at SMPN 21 Semarang. The results obtained are positive, meaning that there is a relation between self-confidence and assertive behavior in expressing opinions in class at SMPN 21 Semarang students. In addition, there is a significant relationship between self-confidence and assertive behavior in students. The purpose of this research was to obtain data showing the relation between self-confidence and statements in students at SMPN 21 Semarang. The type of research used is a quantitative expo post facto correlational design. The research sample was 247 students from 869 total population determined through proportional stratified random sampling. Based on the results of the research that has been done, school counselors are expected to be able to provide counseling services related to self-confidence, given the importance of self-confidence that students have and their impact on students so that students can avoid deviant behavior such as bullying in their school environment.
