<![CDATA[Error Analysis of Active and Passive voice Used in Recount text by Tenth Grade Students of SMAN 2 Tuban Muhammad Syukur Hidayat English Department, Faculty of Language and Arts, Surabaya State University Hidayatsyukur.hs@gmail.com Abstrak Dalam pembelajaran bahasa kedua, penyampaian sebuah pesan tidak hanya diartikan bagaimana merubah sebuah pesan dari bahasa ibu kedalam bahasa kedua tetapi juga ada beberapa aspek yang mungkin bisa disebut gaya bahasa. Dalam istilah gaya bahasa, kalimat aktif dan pasif menduduki bagian penting dalam hal ini. Jenis kalimat seperti ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun dengan sebuah kalimat yang sama, disana terdapat sebuah item yang perlu ditegaskan dari pada item- item yang lain dalam sebuah kalimat.Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk menganalisa eror yang terjadi selama penggunaan kalimat aktif dan pasif oleh kelas sepuluh. Alasan kenapa peneliti menerapkan penelitian ini pada kelas sepuluh adalah dalam kelas ini, teks recount menjadi salah satu jenis teks yang harus dipelajari. Sebuah fitur bahasa dalam teks ini yang digunakan peneliti dalam penelitian ini adalah kata kerja. Kalimat aktif dan pasif mempunyai susunan yang berbeda, kata kerja mungkin menjadi suatu hal yang rumit untuk dipelajari dalam hal ini.Peneliti menggunakan metode qualitatif dalam penelitian ini. Untuk analisa eror, peneliti menganalisa eror melalui dua cara; mengklasifikasikan eror tersebut kedalam beberapa jenis serta mendefinisikan sumber dari eror itu sendiri.Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kapasitas siswa dalam mempelajari kalimat aktif dan pasif. Hampir keseluruhan eror terjadi terdapat pada kalimat pasif. Peneliti mengumpulkan data eror tersebut dari dua aktifitas yang menharuskan siswa untuk mengenali kalimat aktif dan pasif serta merubah kalimat aktif ke pasif atau sebaliknya.Dalam hal ini, para siswa perlu untuk di ajarkan tentang aturan dasar dari kalimat aktif dan pasif. Selain itu, pemeberian pelatihan dari kedua jnis kalimat tersebut dapat menjadi sebuah solusi dari ketidakseimbangan kemampuan para sisa dalam mempelajari kalimat aktif dan pasif. Kalimat Aktif dan Pasif, Teks Recount Abstract In second language learning, conveying a message is not only considered as how to transform a message from mother tongue into target language but also there are several aspect that may called language style. In the term of language style, active and passive take a vital part in this term. These kinds of voices show that even with a same message, there is an item that needs to be emphasized than the other item in a sentence.This research is aimed to analyze the errors happened during the use of active and passive voice in tenth grader. The reason of researcher apply this research to tenth grader is because in this grade, recount text become one of the text that should be learned. A feature of the recount text that used by the researcher in this study is action verb. Since active and passive voice has different structure, action verb may become one of complicated thing to learn.The researcher uses qualitative to design this study. Moreover, for the error analysis the researcher analyzes the errors trough two ways; classified them into kinds of errors and defined their source.The results of this research show that there is a different capacity of the students in learning active and passive voice. Most of errors happened in passive voice. The researcher gained the errors data from two activities which required the students to recognize active/passive voice and change active voice into passive voice and the opposite. In this case, the students still need to be thought the basic rules of active and passive voice. Moreover, giving some exercise from both active and passive voice can a solution of the unbalance ability of students in learning active and passive voice.
