Menurut kurikulum 2013, siswa-siswi seharusnya dapat membuat teks deskripsi secara tulis dan lisan. Dalam kemampuan berbicara, siswa-siswi menghadapi masalah karena beberapa alasan; kurangnya kosa kata, kurangnya motivasi, dan cara mengajar. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yang bermaksud untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi dari Suggestopedia yang berdasarkan Kurikulum 2013 untuk mengajar kemampuan berbicara teks deskripsi kepada siswa siswi kelas 7 dan mencatat respon siswa terhadap implementasi tersebut. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah ceklis observasi dan kuisioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi Suggestopedia untuk mengajar berbicara teks deskripsi berjalan lancar dan membawa respon positif dari siswa siswi. Selanjutnya, teknik Suggestopedia dapat membantu siswa-siswi untuk mempelajari teks deskripsi dan berbicara dengan percaya diri. Kata Kunci: teknik suggestopedia, berbicara, teks deskripsi, respon siswa. Abstract Speaking is considered the most difficult skill by most learners. According to 2013 curriculum, seventh graders are supposed to be able to construct descriptive texts orally and in written. In speaking, students face some problems because of limited vocabularies, being unmotivated, and the teaching strategy used. This research is a qualitative research trying to describe the implementation of Suggestopedia by adapting Scientific Approach for teaching speaking descriptive texts to the seventh graders and to record their responses toward it. The instruments are observation checklist and questionnaire. The result shows that the implementation of Suggestopedia in speaking class runs well thus resulted in positive responses from the students. Moreover, Suggestopedia can help students speak confidently. Keywords: Suggestopedia technique, speaking, descriptive texts, students’ responses.
