SMAN 1 Malang is a public school that does not have a religious background, but in it is reflected in a religious atmosphere that is not far from being a school with a religious background. Students at SMA Negeri 1 Malang already have good character, but religious character is still not embedded in them. Religious values are still lacking so that there is a lack of religious character embedded in students. Religious programs have been made by the school but there are still some students who do not participate in these activities. This study found the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers in the formation of students' religious character. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to describe the programs, strategies, and results of Islamic Religious Education teachers in the formation of religious character in SMA Negeri 1 Malang. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study research. The results of this study indicate that not all students at SMA Negeri 1 Malang have a religious character embedded in them. This is because the personality of the students themselves and the character of each student is different.
