MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA PERSAMAAN KUADRAT MELALUI METODE EXPLICIT INSTRUCTION BAGI PESERTA DIDIK KELAS IX

This study aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes for the Quadratic Equation material in class IXA students of SMP Negeri 1 Piyungan semester 1 for the 2022/2023 academic year through the application of the explicit instruction method. The type of action taken is learning by applying the explicit instruction method, which is carried out in two cycles and each cycle consists of two meetings. Data collection techniques used are observation and test learning outcomes. Observation techniques were used to record data about the interaction activities of students in groups, classroom management and teacher teaching. Learning outcomes test is used to measure the success rate of student learning outcomes on the subject matter. The implementation technique, the teacher presents the material step by step, in groups the students discuss completing the LKPD (initial training), then individually do the independent test (advanced training). Data on student learning outcomes were analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques. The results showed that from the average value of 66.29 with a completeness of 25.58% in the initial conditions, after the first cycle of action the average value increased to 75.81 with a completeness of 70.97%, and in the first cycle II the average score increased to 85.81 with a completeness of 87.10%. The conclusion of the researcher is that the results of learning Mathematics for students in class IXA of SMP Negeri 1 Piyungan, Bantul Regency increased after the implementation of the explicit instruction method in learning. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika materi Persamaan Kuadrat pada Peserta Didik kelas IXA SMP Negeri 1 Piyungan semester 1 Tahun Pelajaran 2022/2023 melalui penerapan metode explicit instruction. Jenis tindakan yang dilakukan adalah pembelajaran dengan penerapan metode explicit instruction, yang dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus dan setiap siklus terdiri dua kali pertemuan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan tes hasil belajar. Teknik observasi digunakan untuk merekam data tentang aktivitas interaksi Peserta Didik dalam kelompok, pengelolaan kelas dan guru mengajar. Tes hasil belajar digunakan untuk mengukur tingkat keberhasilan hasil belajar peserta didik terhadap materi pelajaran. Teknik pelaksanaan, guru menyajikan materi tahap demi tahap, secara berkelompok peserta didk berdiskusi menyelesaikan LKPD (pelatihan awal), kemudian secara individu mengerjakan tes mandiri (pelatihan lanjutan). Data hasil belajar peserta didik dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari rata-rata nilai yakni sebesar 66,29 dengan ketuntasan sebesar 25,58% pada kondisi awal, setelah dilakukan tindakan siklus I rata-rata nilai meningkat menjadi 75,81 dengan ketuntasan sebesar 70,97%, dan pada siklus II rata-rata nilai meningkat menjadi 85,81 dengan ketuntasan sebesar 87,10%. Simpulan peneliti adalah hasil belajar Matematika materi Persamaan Kuadrat peserta didik kelas IXA SMP Negeri 1 Piyungan Kabupaten Bantul meningkat setelah diterapkannya metode explicit instruction dalam pembelajaran.
