MENINGKATKAN AKTIVITAS BELAJAR BAHASA INGGRIS SISWA KELAS IX SMPN 9 KONAWE SELATAN MELALUI METODE TUTOR SEBAYA PADA MATERI NARRATIVE TEXT

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of peer tutoring learning model on improving English learning activities of class IX A students of SMPN 9 Konawe Selatan in learning activities of narrative text materials. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 9 Konawe Selatan, Konawe Selatan Regency, class IX A with 26 students. The research was carried out in semester 2 (Even) of the 2021/2022 Academic Year from January to February 2022. The classroom action research design was planned to consist of two cycles. In the first cycle, class IX A students of SMP Negeri 9 Konawe Selatan carried out PBM activities with peer tutor learning methods to read the mouse deer and crocodile fairy tale in English at the first meeting and read the wolf and the lamb fairy tale at the second meeting. The second cycle activities of class IX A students of SMP Negeri 9 Konawe Selatan carried out PBM activities with the English peer tutor learning method by reading the fairy tale of the lake Toba at the first meeting, and at the second meeting the students reading the snow white fairy tale. For data collection Classroom Action Research (CAR) are as follows, (1) observation and (2) student learning activity questionnaire. The conclusion of the study is that peer tutoring methods are used as a reference for implementing an independent curriculum (IKM) in schools because it involves students significantly and can increase student learning activities in PBM. ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model belajar tutor sebaya terhadap peningkatan aktivitas belajar bahasa Inggris siswa kelas IX A SMPN 9 Konawe Selatan pada kegiatan pembelajaran materi narrative text. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 9 Konawe Selatan Kabupaten Konawe Selatan, kelas IX A dengan jumlah siswa 26 orang. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada semester 2 (Genap) Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022 pada bulan Januari sampai bulan Februari tahun 2022. Desain penelitian tindakan kelas direncanakan terdiri dari dua siklus. Siklus pertama siswa kelas IX A SMP Negeri 9 Konawe Selatan melaksanakan kegiatan PBM dengan metode belajar tutor sebaya membaca dongeng mouse deer and crocodile dalam bahasa Inggris pada pertemuan pertama dan membaca dongeng the wolf and the lamb pada pertemuan kedua. Kegiatan siklus kedua siswa kelas IX A SMP Negeri 9 Konawe Selatan melaksanakan kegiatan PBM dengan metode belajar tutor sebaya bahasa Inggris dengan membaca dongeng the lake Toba pada pertemuan pertama, dan pada pertemuan kedua siswa membaca dongeng snow white. Untuk pengumpulan data Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini adalah sebagai berikut, (1) observasi dan (2) angket aktivitas belajar siswa. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah metode belajar tutor sebaya dijadikan referensi implementasi kurikulum merdeka (IKM) di sekolah karena melibatkan siswa secara nyata dan dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa dalam PBM.
