<![CDATA[The background of this research is about the low of students understanding ofmathematical concepts. This study is aimed to determine whether the applying theactive learning strategy type (LSQ) effect on students understanding ofmathematical concepts at VIII class in SMP 14 Padang. The type of this researchis experimental research, the research design with One Shot Case Study. Thepopulation of this research is 14 students at VIII class in SMP Padang whichconsists of seven classes. The technique is random sampling. The sample isselected VIII.1 class. The instrument used in this research is a test ofunderstanding of mathematical concepts in the form of the final test. The form ofthe test used is the form of an essay by a reliability test is r11 = 0.632. The dataanalysis technique used is t-test. Based on the final math test scores of students inthe class samples obtained an average grade of experiments = 75.96. From theanalysis of the data obtained t = 22.02 and ttable = 2.05. Thus, it can be concludedthat study by using active learning strategies LSQ type effect on the understandingof mathematical concepts at VIII class in SMPN 14 Padang.]]>
