Abstract

The background of this research is that the students’ math concept understandingwas still low and their score on math was under KKM. It was caused by theinteraction among students in the classroom was not harmonies. The aim of thisstudy is to find out the effect of implementing pair change technique on students’math concept understanding. The design of this research is pre-experimentalresearch design, one shot case study. The subjects of this research were eighthgrade students of SMPN 2 south solok. Based on the research done, it was gottenthat the average score of the students post-test is 79,91. It is higher than theaverage of the students previous score, 53,90. It shows that there is a positiveeffect of implementing pair change technique on students’ math conceptunderstanding. Based on result of data analysis, it is known that experimentalclass has the homogeneity. The result of hypothesis testing shows thatP-Value = 0, 014. It tells us that P-Value < ,is =0, 05, so the null hypothesisis accepted with the degree of trust is 95%. Therefore, the null hypothesis: there isa positive effect of implementing pair change technique toward students’ mathconcept understanding, accepted. Concerning on that research result, it isrecommended for the Math teachers to use pair change technique in teachingmath.
