Efektivitas Ekstrak Daun Azadirachta indica Terhadap Kadar Interleukin-10 pada Mencit Swiss yang Diinokulasi Plasmodium Berghei ANKA

Abstract

Malaria is a health problem for the world's population in tropical and subtropical regions. Malaria infection is caused by the protozoa Plasmodium spp. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Azadirachta indica leaf extract on interleukin-10 levels in Swiss mice inoculated with Plasmodium berghei ANKA (PbA). This study used a post-test only design with control group which used 24 Swiss mice weighing 30-35 grams as subjects and divided into 4 groups (K, T1, T2, T3); all groups were inoculated with PbA. Group T1 (inoculated with PbA and treated with Azadirachta indica at a dose of 0.25 mg/gBW), Group T2 (inoculated with PbA and treated with Azadirachta indica at a dose of 0.5 mg/grBW), Group T3 (inoculated with PbA and treated with Azadirachta indica with a dose of 1 mg/gBB). Data analysis used Anova + posthoc test. The results showed that there were differences in IL-10 levels, both in the control group and in the treatment group after being given treatment with a p value <0.05. A greater increase in IL-10 levels occurred in the T3 group (mean +158.6 pg/ml) compared to the K group (mean +73.4 pg/ml), the T1 group (mean +143.2 pg/ml), and the T2 group (mean +136.7 pg/ml).Keywords: Azadirachta indica extract; interleukin-10; Plasmodium berghei ANKA ABSTRAK Malaria merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan bagi penduduk dunia yang berada di kawasan tropis maupun subtropis. Infeksi malaria disebabkan oleh protozoa Plasmodium spp. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas ekstrak daun Azadirachta indica terhadap kadar interleukin-10 pada mencit Swiss yang diinokulasi Plasmodium berghei ANKA (PbA). Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan post-test only with control group yang menggunakan subjek mencit Swiss dengan berat 30-35 gram sebanyak 24 ekor dan dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok (K, T1, T2, T3); semua kelompok diinokulasi PbA. Kelompok T1 (diinokulasi PbA dan terapi Azadirachta indica dengan dosis 0,25 mg/gBB), Kelompok T2 (diinokulasi PbA dan terapi Azadirachta indica dengan dosis 0,5 mg/grBB), Kelompok T3 (diinokulasi PbA dan terapi Azadirachta indica dengan dosis 1 mg/gBB). Analisis data menggunakan uji Anova + posthoc. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan kadar IL-10, baik pada kelompok kontrol maupun pada kelompok perlakuan setelah diberikan treatment dengan nilai p <0,05. Peningkatan kadar IL-10 yang lebih besar terjadi pada kelompok T3 (rerata +158,6 pg/ml) dibandingkan kelompok K (rerata +73,4 pg/ml), kelompok T1 (rerata +143,2 pg/ml), dan kelompok T2 (rerata +136,7 pg/ml). Kata kunci: ekstrak Azadirachta indica; interleukin-10; Plasmodium berghei ANKA
